As any self-respecting Philadelphian will tell you, a good mascot says everything about who you are. Gritty, the Flyers' orange anarchist, reminds us that success can be messy and magnificent. The Phillie Phanatic? A celebration of joy, loyalty, and the occasional quad-bike. So when ThinkGen decided it was time for a mascot, we didn’t just want a character—we wanted an icon.
Enter Thinkie, our very own cerulean cephalopod. Thinkie represents the many arms (and brains) of ThinkGen today. What began as a pure qualitative shop has grown into a full-service insight engine—qualitative, quantitative, AI-driven analytics (hello, ThinkAEI!), and a suite of innovative, hybrid methods that don’t yet have industry buzzwords but probably will by Q3.
Thinkie is the delightful brainchild of Brian Hull, our President and COO. Brian’s name is frequently misspelled as “Brain”—a slip that, frankly, feels less like an error and more like a prophecy. Whether it’s advancing our innovation pipeline, our AI initiatives, or figuring out how to sneak an octopus into corporate branding, Brian is the cerebral force behind much of what makes ThinkGen tick.
And of course, while birthing a mascot is no solo endeavor, full credit must go to Jane Jorgensen, our Controller, who not only embraced Thinkie but is also making sure our beloved octopus shows up everywhere from our next batch of baseball caps to (you heard it here first) a custom Thinkie squeezy toy.
The Thinkie squeezy toy is, naturally, just the beginning of the merch machine. However, we learned a vital lesson early: Thinkie must be dog-safe. This pearl of wisdom came from our dear friend and client Indrajit Mitra at Merck, who pointed out the tragic potential of an ill-fated Thinkie ending up in a golden retriever's windpipe.
Rest assured, we are working with manufacturers to make Thinkie squeezable, lovable, and decidedly non-lethal.
Thinkie isn’t just a toy or a T-shirt graphic—she’s now a fully recognized member of the ThinkGen logo family, swimming alongside our classic offset G in boulevardier red. We like to think of her as both a symbol of where we’ve been and where we’re going: curious, multi-armed, and ready to grapple with the biggest challenges in healthcare insights.
So, here’s to Thinkie—a mascot who multitasks as well as our project managers, networks harder than our conference booth, and smiles wider than our inbox after a client approval. You’re already pulling your weight… all eight arms of it. Welcome to the family, Thinkie. May your tentacles be ever busy.
